Marylebone Low Emission Neighbourhood – Play Street

26th March 2018 / Posted by CRP Team

The Marylebone Low Emission Neighbourhood (LEN) programme was established in 2016 after a successful bid by Westminster City Council to the Mayor’s Air Quality Fund.

One strand of this work to help tackle air quality is a school engagement programme which has seen children from schools in the LEN take part in dedicated air quality lessons and activities. Building on the success of delivery partner Sustrans’ work with the Eco-Committee at Halcyon International School, a play street was held nearby, with a small section of the street outside the school closed to vehicles for a short time.

The play street featured a space for BMX stunts, basic cycle training, a market for restored bikes and DIY bike jewellery, a mobile air quality monitoring station, a parklet, pedal powered smoothie making and a disco music generating bike.

CRP programme manages the LEN, so as well as providing information on the day, we took along our portable garden and asked people to sit down, relax and consider what the streets of the future should look like. As you can see, the future of urban design is in creative hands!

CRP Team Press Release Training

26th March 2018 / Posted by CRP Team

This month, CRP commissioned PR and communications specialist – Kate Hart Consulting to deliver an in-house training session for staff on writing effective press releases.

The workshop took the team through the ‘Golden Rules’ of press releases and provided the top 5 tips to getting it right.

  1. Does it appeal?
  2. Killer headline matters
  3. Get your ‘news’ in the first paragraph
  4. Be concise
  5. Include quote and image

With the growing portfolio of pioneering projects that CRP are involved in, it is imperative that we are able to communicate this to a varied audience.
