Data Analysis & Monitoring Services: South Bank BID
Project Summary: Supporting South Bank BID with insightful monitoring, tailored data analysis and comprehensible reporting to support decision-making that creates a cleaner, greener and safer public realm.
CRP Lead: Ross Phillips
Cross River Partnership (CRP) has been collaborating with South Bank BID since 2021 to deliver impactful traffic monitoring, data analysis and reporting, utilising Vivacity’s innovative artificial intelligence traffic sensors.
The project provides a comprehensive understanding of how pedestrians, cyclists and motor vehicles move through the South Bank BID area, through quarterly reporting that explores hourly and daily trends through easy-to-read charts and supportive writing. CRP also support this with air quality modelling from real-time motor vehicle data, the impact of placemaking initiatives and mapping showing changes to pedestrian and cyclist changes throughout the quarter.
By supplying evidence-based analysis, CRP has helped South Bank BID and their public realm team to evaluate the effectiveness of current projects and identify where additional measures may be required. The project supports informed decision-making and the wider rollout of sustainable, long-term improvements in the local area.
Since 2021, CRP has supported South Bank BID with:
- Daily pedestrian, cyclist and vehicle counts
- Hourly pedestrian, cyclist and vehicle counts and how this changes throughout the day and on weekends vs weekdays
- Local area-based comparisons from sensors located proximately to each other
- Air quality modelling
- Qualitative and quantitative space and behaviour analysis
- Integration of spend, weather and other sources of local data
- Project management supportive through liaison with VivaCity and other external stakeholders
