SGL’s November Task Force: the Key to Kerbside Management

28th November 2023 / Posted by Fiona Coull

This month CRP held the latest Task Force Meeting for the Smarter Greener Logistics (SGL) Programme. The Task Force focussed on the SGL kerbside management workstream, with a presentation and Q&A from GRID Smarter Cities.

This was particularly timely given that the King’s Speech referenced the requirement of Digitised Traffic Regulation Orders (DTROs) to enable digital kerbside management solutions.

As part of SGL, partners are being invited to take part in a ‘Kerbside Management Trial’, helping them to better understand how to utilise this technology and lead the way forward to unlocking the variety of benefits that it can provide.

The Task Force was a great opportunity for partners to learn more about the trial, decide if they want to participate, and to go over any specific questions with GRID about potential locations.

There was also an optional site visit to a digital loading bay on Abbey Orchard Street at the end of the task Force so that partners could see one in practice.

Finally, the event was also a lovely opportunity for SGL partners to network and understand more about activities in other boroughs and BID areas.

We look forward to the next SGL Task Force on the 19th of March 2024!
