Smarter Greener Logistics – October Update
7th October 2024 / Posted by Ross PhillipsIt’s been a busy month for the CRP team throughout September and into October, with updates right across the programme workstreams and all across London.
This has included:
- Launching 2 new shared cargo bikes in the London Borough of Islington through the OurBike scheme, with residents and businesses now able to use these to deliver goods across London by renting a cargo bike from Absolute Print in Archway and LC Cycleworx in Nag’s Head, Holloway.
- Sharing knowledge and learnings with 3 additional SGL Express Case Studies.
- Parcel Locker Installations & Requirements
- Air Quality and Noise Monitoring in Merton
- City of London Virtual Loading Bays
The team have also been turning their talents towards data analysis, delivering another round of reporting for the London Borough of Southwark to understand the impact on cyclists and freight traffic of the recent installation of Cycleway 4 around Lower Road.
CRP also shared plenty of the freight and logistics work, particularly river freight related work, with Deputy Mayor for Environment & Energy at the Greater London Authority, Mete Coban, through a site visit through Vauxhall in early September.
We were also delighted to visit London Borough of Lambeth’s showcase School Street at Henry Fawcett Primary School with Councillor Rezina Chowdhury – thank you for the inspiration!
