World Rivers Day 2024

6th September 2024 / Posted by Sobastian Frazer

Sunday 22nd September marks World Rivers Day.

Founded by Mark Angelo, an internationally celebrated river conservationist, World River’s Day aims to celebrate and appreciate our free-flowing waterways, across countries and cities alike.

What can I do to celebrate World Rivers Day? Well, there are so many fantastic ways you can get involved! From simply joining a litter pick or beach clean up, to embarking on some fun water-based activities such as canoeing or kayaking.

You can also get into contact with local interest groups, including environmental groups, recycling, heritage, arts, and music societies or paddlers and birders. Helping different social groups will not only help the selection of causes but also further your contribution towards your local environment and connections your community has with its waters.
