Oxford Street is to go car-free for a day

Oxford Street will be closed to cars from 12 – 8pm on Sunday 21 September, from Oxford Circus to Orchard Street, the day before the World Car Free Day, offering Londoners and visitors the chance to enjoy the street in a whole new way!

The street will host ‘This is Oxford Street’ a free public event featuring fashion pop-ups, art installations, live performances, food and drink stalls, plus so much more. Read more about the event here.

The event aims to showcase the potential for a reinvigorated, pedestrianised Oxford Street, providing a glimpse of how London’s busiest streets can become cleaner, safer and more enjoyable for people.
