Funding Opportunity: Regenerating historic high streets – High Street Heritage Action Zone (HSHAZ) programme

The Expression of Interest phase of the High Street Heritage Action Zone (HSHAZ) programme has been launched, and will close on Friday 12^th July. The EoI stage is a competitive process, only successful applications will then be asked to develop a full programme design.  Applications will  be accepted from any not-for-profit organisation (e.g. local authorities, charitable trusts, or other public sector organisations) and partnerships led by not-for profit organisations who can demonstrate capacity to deliver. If an application does not have the support of the local authority it will not be accepted.

A Cultural Programme, which is being designed by the Historic England in partnership with the National Lottery Heritage Fund, must be embedded with the application.  This Programme will:

• revitalise high streets through cultural programmes, bringing more people and a wider range of people, and new activity, to the heart of communities, and raising aspirations
• support greater use of high streets and increase dwell time
• support people and places to thrive through cultural engagement, creating greater pride, sense of community and wellbeing
• support local organisations, communities and stakeholders to sustain the benefits of the programme in the future
