Department for Transport’s Site Visit with CRP

18th March 2024 / Posted by Isidora Rivera Vollmer

CRP was delighted to host the Department for Transport’s Road Freight Regulation division team at the Pimlico micro logistics hub during their recent away day on 14th March 2024. The visit provided an opportunity to share valuable insights and learnings from the Westminster City Council and CRP-funded micro logistics hub trial, which took place between April and December 2023. Now operated independently by Delivery Mates for another year, the hub continues to make progress in sustainable last-mile deliveries in the City of Westminster and beyond.

Edward Cox, Business Development & Operations Manager at Decarbon Logistics Solutions, and Kevin Savage, COO at Delivery Mates, also joined the tour, offering firsthand insights and answering the team’s questions. The visit showcased the success of the hub in intercepting LGV and HGV vehicle miles, reducing congestion, and improving local air quality.

The engagement with the Department for Transport underscores the importance of collaboration between public and private entities in progressing sustainable logistics solutions. CRP looks forward to continued partnerships and opportunities to drive positive change in the sustainable logistics sector.
