Clean Air Thames First Steering Group Meeting

25th October 2019 / Posted by Sefinat Otaru

The first Clean Air Thames Steering Group took place at Westminster City Hall last month (September 2019). CRP, the Port of London Authority and the Greater London Authority met to discuss the recent project launch at the Greening Inland Shipping Conference, and to agree on the next steps of the project.

It was an engaging session. One key issue was how best to encourage London vessel operators to apply for funding. This included identifying relevant newsletters and social media groups.

Another issue was to pick the most suitable methodology and scoring to use when reviewing applications during a panel session to take place next January.

The meeting ended on an optimistic note – attendees look forward to inviting successful funding applicants to join its quarterly meetings from March 2020 going forward.

Clean Air Thames is a three-year project to retrofit inland vessels to improve air quality along the River Thames. For more information and to apply, visit the project webpage or contact CRP Project Manager, Sefinat Otaru.
