Connect 4 Session 8: ESG and the Evolution of the Workplace

August 18, 2022 16:00

Host:  CRP
Category:  Air Quality, Environment, Health & Wellbeing, Place Making
Cost:  Free

Join Cross River Partnership (CRP) for the eighth session of CRP’s Connect 4 Series, ‘ESG and the Evolution of the Workplace’ taking place on Thursday 18th August, 4pm – 4:45pm. We will be hearing from Junee, Heart of the City and CRP on the circular economy and how to engage the workforce.

This session will take place online on Microsoft Teams.

Junee will be presenting on their work helping offices reduce food & beverage packaging waste in the workplace. The UK generates 11 billion pieces of packaging waste from lunch-on-the-go each year. They’ll share why reuse is the new recycling, and how their reusable container service helps offices transition from single-use to reuse, providing the packaging, washing, and communications support.

Heart of the City will be presenting on their mission to make social responsibility a core element of business’ focus going forward. This includes mentoring programmes for SMEs and their work with the City of London Corporation to work towards the Square Mile achieving Net Zero by 2040.

CRP will be presenting on the newly launched river freight pilot, as part of the Defra-funded Clean Air Villages 4 programme. This pilot is taking office and cleaning supplies for businesses from Dartford to the Northbank BID area, via Woolwich. Delivering freight by river can provide a cleaner alternative to petrol vehicles, and this pilot is the first multi-pick-up project in London.

There will be a panel at the end where attendees will have a chance to ask questions about the session.

The panel for Session 7 consists of:

1. Caroline Williams, Co-Founder, Junee

2. Maggie Berry OBE, Director, Heart of the City

3. Kate Fenton, Project Manager, Cross River Partnership

4. Rachael Aldridge, Communications Manager, Cross River Partnership

This event will take place online via MS Teams, and you will be sent a sign-up link once registered.

Junee is a company focused on workplace sustainability, who have created a reusable system for lunchtime packaging which makes reuse as easy as single-use.
