Remembering Malcolm Haxby MBE
18th November 2024 / Posted by Susannah WilksWe are extremely sad to report that Malcolm Haxby MBE, the first Director of CRP, passed away suddenly this September.
Malcolm leaves behind a large and close-knit family.
CRP joined in giving thanks for Malcolm’s life at his very well-attended funeral on 10th October 2024.
Many tributes were paid to Malcolm, citing his extraordinary ability to bring diverse groups of people and organisations together, in order to achieve amazing things.
The number of Malcolm’s professional achievements make them too great to list, but probably the greatest of his achievements were the Golden Jubilee Bridges running between the City of Westminster and the South Bank, London Borough of Lambeth.
We all appreciate the beauty of these bridges every time we are in central London.
Malcolm has left an outstanding legacy, including in the form of the ongoing Cross River Partnership. He was the one who had a vision for collaboration, and who set the partnership up. His convening power continues and grows as CRP flourishes into the future.
Malcolm’s nominated charity was the British Heart Foundation, if anyone would like to make a donation in his honour.
If you would like to pass any condolences on to Malcolm’s wife Maggie and his family, please contact susannahwilks@crossriverpartnership.org in the first instance.
