Thorntree Primary School – Cycle and Scooter Parking

The average journey to school in London is less than a 10-minute walk yet many of these journeys are made by car. This can create an unsafe and polluted environment around schools as well as adding to local congestion.

The Royal Borugh of Greenwich has installed cycle and scooter parking at Thorntree Primary School in order to encourage parents and pupils to travel to school more sustainably. Providing spave for childre to leave their bikes and scooters has encouraged more travel by cycling and scooting helping to improve air quality and making the school commute more enjoyable and fun.
