Oval Triangle Low Traffic Neighbourhood

As part of Lambeth’s response to the current pandemic a low traffic neighbourhood was created in early June in the Oval Triangle neighbourhood. Restrictions on motor traffic are being trialled to make the area access-only for motor vehicles. Nearly all households within the Oval Triangle, now have motor vehicle access from South Lambeth Road. There are some exceptions to this such as properties in the Mursell Estate, Hanover Gardens, Elias Place and Claylands Place.

The low traffic neighbourhood will now be delivered in two stages:

  • Immediately creating a low traffic neighbourhood with a temporary scheme
  • Developing a permanent scheme, which will be informed by engaging with stakeholders and learning lessons from the temporary scheme
