Kings Road Xmas Light Car Free Event

CRP’s HSE Programme funded a Xmas Light Car Free Event on Kings Road in partnership with the Cadogan Estates. As part of the event, a 200m section of road was closed to have the Christmas light switch on as well as a market and fireworks.

The event attracted 75,000 visitors and there were 60 market stalls. There were also 6 cargo bikes being showcased as part of the event and a zero-emission shop & drop service using the cargo bikes was available for people who bought goods at the market.

In terms of the impact of the event. Initial data is indicating that there were good air quality improvements as a result of the road closure – NO2 was reduced by 1%, NO was reduced by 16% and NOx reduced by 9%.
