A School Street has been introduced at St Catherine’s Catholic Primary School in Barnet to encourage walking and cycling to school. Vehicle movements are restricted along a section of Vale Drive, from Elton Avenue and Mays Lane, between 8.15 – 9:15am and 3.00 – 4.00pm, Monday to Friday. During these hours this section of road will become a Pedestrian and Cycle Zone, which will be enforced with the use of ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) cameras. Residents, local business located within the School Street, blue badge holders, and emergency vehicles will still be allowed access to the roads. The School Street was introduced in September 2020 using an experimental traffic order.
