Haringey Council closed Middle Lane for Car Free Day 2019 due to its poor air quality and to encourage more social interaction in Crouch End and the surrounding community. More than 200 attendees enjoyed the fun activities that were available and used the opportunity to walk, play and cycle in the area. The event received very positive feedback following the removal of cars.
