West Norwood Business Growth

The West Norwood Business Growth programme aims to: uplift the high street; increase business, employment and growth opportunities; reduce vacant properties, and; create a vibrant town centre.

With key support from both West Norwood Business Association and Tulse Hill Business Group, a Business Improvement District (BID) is being explored for the area. £50,000 has been secured from the London Borough of Lambeth and £30,000 from the GLA by CRP to deliver the BID development resulting in an extension of the project (and the WNBM role) for an additional 12 months.

CRP will continue to showcase West Norwood and FEAST in particular, through its Sustainable Urban Markets project, and link into Greening the BIDs programme. The West Norwood Business Growth programme aims to: uplift the high street; increase business, employment and growth opportunities; reduce vacant properties, and; create a vibrant town centre. Since 2013 West Norwood has been revitalised with support of the Business Manager (managed by CRP) and £1.3m from the Mayor’s Outer London Fund.

Projects delivered included public realm works, shop front improvements, FEAST market support and a tailored business support programme.

“"As the cooperative council’s ambition is finding new ways in which citizens can participate, developing a BID would be at the forefront of co-production with the relationship between local businesses and the council strengthened as a result."”
